Bel Esprit Showroom Members Present Ethical Fashion
at London Fashion Week

Bel Esprit members will present their Fall 2010 collections during an exclusive showing at the Amaka Showroom in London. Amaka will feature the ethical collections of Elena Garcia, Tammam, Boutique Ethique, Miksani and Emesha.

Philadelphia, PA January 30, 2010 – Bel Esprit members Elena Garcia, Tammam, Boutique Ethique, Miksani and Emesha will present their collections during London Fashion Week at Amaka Showroom, 75-77 Great Portland Street, London on February 19, 2010, from 6-8 pm. Bel Esprit members represent high end, chic fashion produced with respect for the world and its inhabitants.

Elena Garcia’s couture Fall “Opium Collection” is inspired by the 1920’s bohemia of opium dens and japonica, as well as the aesthetics of the film The Last Emperor. Soft and easy elegance with a decadent feel, radiant color combinations of luscious plums, Chinese reds and gold dye effects on satin silk and wool make up the capsule collection for 2010. All made in London, sustainably and ethically, as always.

Designer Linda Row draws her inspiration from all artistic sources and incorporates her love of texture in the pieces she crafts. Fall 2010 is made in sumptuous organic British tweeds, lined in organic cotton fleece, teamed with wild silks which are naturally dyed in an ever increasing range of colors. There is a Samurai feel about the jackets with textural detailing contrasted with strong silhouettes and high necks. Boutique Ethique collections evolve following the slow fashion movement and adhere to ecological principles.

Emesha is the sporty-luxe label for the woman who does not want to compromise on style and quality. Experimental pattern cutting, draping and crisp tailoring techniques are combined to create clean silhouettes and feminine looks. The elegant dresses, perfect for business and after 5 occasions, are popular items with editors. The deceptively simple silhouettes are carefully pieced together and beautifully crafted to provide a precise, but easy, fit and a timeless look.

Tammam is a designer couture collection that infuses contemporary style with inspiration from the 30’s and the 40’s. The pieces are superbly tailored in beautiful fabrics, with hand-finished tucks, pleats and embellishments adding to the beauty of the clothing. The fit and style is exquisite, with gowns that are red carpet (or should we say green?) stand-outs. Vintage meets modern innovation at the House of Tammam.

The Miksani label is known for its fun and flirty styles for the young and young at heart. The Fall/Winter collection features fair trade chunky mohair jumper dresses, organic cotton jersey tunics with chiffon panels and alpaca jumper dresses and sweaters hand knitted in Peru by World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) certified producers. The luxuriously soft alpaca wool is farmed organically and un-dyed, ensuring it remains as environmentally friendly as possible.
These talented designers being spotlighted by the Amaka Showroom guarantee a London Fashion Week event not to be missed.
