Environmental considerations

Clothworks primary aims are to promote the use of
'Eco textiles' and to combine good design with ethical manufacture.

Careful consideration is given to all the materials used in the production and packaging of garments.

• ‘Off cuts’ are used for interlining garments 
• Fastenings are biodegradable – we choose not to use metal in our clothes because these metals can be conductors of radio waves and act as aerials, causing health problems.
• Colours are obtained from: Natural dyes (without the use of toxic chemical mordants)
• Chemical dyes that are Azo free and do not contain Heavy metals
• No chlorine bleaching is undertaken
• Promotional material is printed onto recycled paper or board
• All fabric scraps are collected to be passed on for recycling
